Professor & Head of ECE Department

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in 2001 and is currently running B.E, M.Tech and Research programs. The department is headed by Dr. Vipula Singh, who has around 18 years of experience in teaching and research. She has obtained her doctorate from Guru Gobind Singh Indra Prastha University New Delhi in the area of image processing. She has published more than 21 papers in international / national Journals and Conferences. She is currently guiding 2 students for Ph.D and 1 student for MS. She is the author a book on image processing.

In 2012-13, UG intake has increased from 120 to 180 and PG intake has increased from 18 to 24. The department has 30 faculty members, with 4 professors and the rest with a PG degree. Two professors are doctorates with specialization in Wireless communication and image processing. The Department has VTU recognized R & D centre and 13 faculty members are pursuing Ph.D in diverse areas of ECE, such as, Digital Electronics, VLSI, Biomedical Engineering, Power Electronics, Image Processing and Communication. The faculty are zealously involved in improving their skills and qualifications. Some of the highlights of the achievements of the faculty are

  2. 10 books published
  3. Active interaction with industry initiated .
  4. Regularly conduct curriculum related workshops for VTU faculty.
  5. Staff members have been Members of BOE
  6. Involved in curriculum development and on board of other autonomous colleges.
  7. Experts for EDUSAT program of VTU.
  8. Guiding 8 students for Ph.D
